Overview
Florida Statute 1006.07(6)(c) requires that:
Each district school board and charter school governing board must adopt an active assailant response plan. By October 1, 2019, and annually thereafter, each district school superintendent and charter school principal shall certify that all school personnel have received annual training on the procedures contained in the active assailant response plan for the applicable school district or charter school.
School Board Policy EBC Emergencies establishes that the Emergency Procedures Manual contains the active assailant response plan and principals are to certify that all of his/her staff have been trained on this plan. To comply with the statute and school board policy, this module has been developed to include training on the active assailant response plan. As such, it must be completed with ALL employees in your school.
This training is designed to help school based personnel understand emergency procedures, the Standard Response Protocol, the requirements to build school resilience, and the active assailant response plan.
