Full Description/Meeting Details:

In this four day virtual training, teachers will gain a strong foundation in the basics of using Canvas LMS for teaching and learning. Canvas is an intuitive learning platform from Instructure which provides the opportunity for staff and students to shape a different learning experience, with diverse features and tools in a single online environment. It also integrates with some of our existing learning tools, including Google Drive and Safari Montage. Canvas is replacing Blackboard, Edmodo, and Moodle as the official Learning Management System (LMS) in Orange County Public Schools.

Virtual training will take place in the OCPS Remote Canvas Training Platform. Participants will have the ability to personalize their learning by selecting a maximum of 8 Canvas micro-sessions (12 hours) based on their current knowledge level.  Each session will offer training and hands-on activities with access to a trainer for Q/A and support. Major components of Canvas will be covered over the course of four days. Topics will include but are not limited to Assignments, Quizzes, and Course Design.
