OCPS provides readily available eBooks, audiobooks and digital texts. Learn the steps to help students use the resources for independent reading, research, literature circles, book clubs, etc.

This is a full day session presented through Microsoft Teams. Expand the classroom library and engage your student in text that supports your instruction. OCPS provides readily available eBooks, audiobooks and digital texts. Learn the steps to help students use the resources for independent reading, research, literature circles, book clubs, etc.

 

By the end of the workshop participants will develop activities and/or lessons that use edtech tools that support strategies to meet the needs of all students, including ESE and ELL learners.

 

Resources may include:

  • Destiny Discover

  • Immersive Reader

  • iPad Apps

  • Newsela

  • OCLS Virtual Library Card

  • OrbitDoc

  • PBS Learning

  • Reading A-Z

  • Sora

 

Tips to get the most out of this day long workshop:

 

  • Arrange for a substitute in advance. Funds for substitutes will be made available after completion of the workshop.

  • Set up in a quiet location where you will not be disturbed.

  • Microphone and headset are required.

  • Having two screens is very beneficial as it allows participants to view the presentation on one screen while engaging in hands-on activities on another.
