Course Description/Meeting Summary:

Participants will develop a deep understanding of upcoming content standards and effective pedagogical strategies for addressing this content. Sessions will be limited to 25 participants. Participants will be paid at the training rate of $20/hour to attend.

Full Description/Meeting Details:

Target Audience: 7th Grade Language Arts Teachers

During each of the sessions, participants will focus on the standards in an upcoming CRM and will engage in the following focus areas:

• Standards/Content - What do my students need to be able to understand/know/do
  according to these standards?

• Pedagogy - How can I teach this content most effectively? How can I appropriately
  scaffold this content to meet the needs of my students? How can I engage my students
  in making meaning of this content?

• Formative assessment - How will I monitor student understanding of this content and
  adjust my instruction accordingly?
