Thursday, January 23, 2020 in Room 3A (third floor) at the Ronald Blocker Educational Leadership Center (RBELC) located at 445 W. Amelia St., Orlando, 32801 7:30-8am - Registration; 8-2:30pm - Training with 1/2 hour lunch break This face-to-face training is for current OCPS middle and high school teachers responsible for teaching sexual health education who have never attended sexual health education or HIV Disease Prevention training.

7:30-8am - Registration; 8am-2:30pm - Face-to-face training with 1/2 hour lunch break. 

Sexual Health Education Part 1 professional development is designed to provide teachers with an overview of the OCPS sexual health education (SHE) curriculum guidelines, the basic facts about the virology, transmission, signs, symptoms and prevention of HIV Disease and birth control information.

This face-to-face training is for current OCPS middle school and high school teachers responsible for teaching SHE, including HIV, STD and teen pregnancy prevention, who have never attended SHE or HIV Disease Prevention training.

Through grant funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, substitute teacher costs will be reimbursed for current 6-12th grade SHE teachers who teach at traditional OCPS schools.  Substitute teacher costs for classified personnel cannot be paid. 

Teachers must request Temporary Duty Leave via myocps.net and schedule a substitute teacher according to school procedures. 

Participants must attend the entire session from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for substitute teacher costs to be reimbursed and to receive inservice points. Partial substitute teacher payments and/or partial inservice points will not be processed. Teachers who arrive 15 minutes late or longer (8:15am or later) will not be admitted. In addition, teachers who return 15 or more minutes late from lunch will not be admitted. 

RBELC security measures require a school ID badge to gain access to the elevators at the RBELC. Please allow ample time to park, go through security and take the elevators to the 3rd floor. 

Please bring a sweater because the room temperature may vary. 

If you are not able to attend, please cancel your reservation to allow for someone else to attend.
