  • BRAINball™ is an innovative and unique physical education learning system that merges physical activity and academic learning through play. Instructors will learn to use 100 mini balls to utilize BRAINball's collection of 100 lesson plans to develop math, reading, grammar, spelling, anatomy, and foreign language skills. In addition to the physical benefits, significant improvement will be seen in gross and fine motor skills, cooperative and cognitive learning. BRAINball™ can be incorporated into adapted physical education programs as well as those teaching students with learning disabilities, such as dyslexia. All schools that have not previously received equipment will receive one set of BRAINball equipment valued at ~$800.
  • OrganWise Guys helps children learn about nutrition and health in creative ways, allowing them to retain important information to take care of their bodies and reduce obesity and related diseases. All schools represented will receive an elementary kit valued at $795 and have access to the digital curriculum resources for all students in your school.
  • All elementary schools were sent the SPARK Inclusive Physical Education guidebook in July/August 2022. Laurie Chmielewski, OCPS Lead Adaptive PE teacher, will discuss strategies for including students with disabilities in general physical education.

Follow school procedures to request a substitute teacher. Through grant funding, substitute teacher costs will be reimbursed for OCPS K-5 physical education teachers and PE paras from traditional schools and H/H who attend. Priority registration will be given to teachers who have never attended BRAINball training.
