Full Description/Meeting Details:

An AAC user’s success is directly related to the support provided by the communication partner. In this workshop participants learn best practice communication partner strategies to support student success with AAC systems. Focus is on creating functional communication opportunities, raising expectations, prompting less, aided language and core vocabulary. Several hands on activities will allow participants to experience the power of core vocabulary and engage in a classroom science activity as an AAC user.

Target audience: InD, VE, & ASD Teachers, SLPs, Paraprofessionals, Parents, & Behavior Specialists.
