Full Description/Meeting Details:

This workshop introduces strategies for students using assistive technology and/or augmentative/alternative communication to participate in the classroom curriculum, ranging from emergent literacy needs to higher level curriculum strategies.  Topics covered include ideas for incorporating AT strategies when working with students on Access Points. In addition information will be shared about making materials accessible for students with physical limitations, communication interaction, active participation during instruction, sound manipulation for students who are non-verbal, vocabulary building, and writing strategies for students who are non-verbal or low verbal. The day will include previews of Access Point approved curriculum resources (Unique Learning, News-2-You, Boardmaker Online).
