Course Description/Meeting Summary:
This Universal Design for Learners (UDL) course is designed to familiarize individuals who hold a valid Florida Teaching Certificate with the UDL Framework, and how the utilization of this framework can assist in meeting the needs of diverse learners. Participants who are engaged in the course will view videos, read related articles, complete interactive lessons, participate in online discussion boards, and complete a final task that includes the use of UDL principles to demonstrate learning of course content. Videos and assignments can be accessed from your computer any time of day, at home and school.

This Universal Design for Learners (UDL) course is designed to familiarize individuals who hold a valid Florida Teaching Certificate with the UDL Framework, and how the utilization of this framework can assist in meeting the needs of diverse learners.
Participants who are engaged in the course will view videos, read related articles, complete interactive lessons, participate in online discussion boards, and complete a final task that includes the use of UDL principles to demonstrate learning of course content. Videos and assignments can be accessed from your computer any time of day, at home and school.
To be successful in this course, please note:
- This is a self-paced course. We recommend completing the course over multiple days.
- This course begins on July 15, 2024, and will close at 11:59 pm on June 29, 2025.
- The course takes 20 hours to complete. 20 hours of ESE In-service points to be used for recertification will be awarded once a certificate is obtained. The course will generate a certificate once all criteria have been met. In order to meet this requirement, you also need to complete the PD Evaluation form at the end of the course. This form is not visible until all modules are complete. It will appear after the last module in the course.
- Your certificate can be located in the "Essentials" section on the menu bar of Canvas, to the left.
- Points for the UDL course will show on your in-service record as "MULTILEVEL INSTRUCTION." When you check your inservice record, please look for this description with a point value of 20. The component number is also listed as 2100001. Points can take 24 – 48 hours to populate on your in–service record.
- ***Please note: If you require recertification, we recommend that you complete the course NO LATER THAN June 14, 2025 to ensure that your in-service points are awarded into your in-service record.
