The Section 504: What Educator’s Need to Know module is designed to provide teachers with an overview of the intent of the legislation of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the unique requirements of Section 504 regulations for students in grades K-12. Further, it is designed delineate the general educator’s responsibilities to students eligible under Section 504 including child find, referral, evaluation, eligibility, implementation, and documentation. Upon completion of the module, educators will recognize the definition and the unique requirements of Section 504 as well as identify their role as it relates to educating students with disabilities.
