Course Description/Meeting Summary:

This course is designed for paraprofessionals that work with students with autism and other related disabilities in the self-contained learning environment. The purpose of this course is to prepare paraprofessionals to be successful in the classroom with supporting students with autism or who are neurodivergent. Participants will learn all about autism, the role of support, reviewing classroom basics within a self-contained classroom, how to effectively support problem behaviors, taking data, and how to foster independence in the student with autism. This face to face Professional Learning will be held at Baldwin Park Elementary Portable 10 at 8:30-3:30 on 12/3/24.
