Course Description/Meeting Summary:

"The target audience for this training is K-12 school counselors. The online session will take place June 30, 2021 from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. This session will include the following: presenting what advocacy is and the different kinds of advocacy in school settings, discussing the challenges and obstacles that school counselors face that prevent successful advocacy, and sharing strategies and approaches that can lead to effective advocacy so all participants can be empowered to create steps that can be taken in their own school settings for positive change. Breakout sessions will be included so counselors may join their fellow grade level counselors in discussion and activities regarding advocacy."

The target audience for this training is K-12 school counselors. o      If you are no longer planning on completing this course, please remove yourself to allow space for others to attend. Click here for instructions on how to remove yourself.

o      If you are not (a K-12 School Counselors), please remove yourself as you will not gain access to the course.

o      In the event that there are less than 10 participants signed up, this course will be cancelled on (June 27, 2021). You will receive an email if this occurs.

o      Upload your signed Summer 2021 Professional Development Planning Sheet prior to start date. You will not gain access to the course without it. Click here for the planning sheet.

o      (Promoting Positive Behaviors and Advocacy) begins on (June 30) and ends on (June 30)

 

o      There is a 15 minute policy. This means you cannot be more than 15 minutes late at the beginning, returning from lunch, or leaving early for face to face or LIVE sessions. This results in no admittance. If you cannot stay for the duration of the PD, please remove yourself from the course.

o      Your pay date will depend upon the completion of the course and the date that your pay is confirmed, validated, and submitted.
