Course Description/Meeting Summary:

We will be providing Learning Strategy teachers with professional development conducted by FDLRS. After attending the professional development the teachers will be able to provide instruction through the learning strategies classes on executive functioning skills, possible selves, word mapping, inference, and self-advocacy. The teachers will attend a one day professional development on each of the strategies mentioned below and four planning days to implement, reflect, and revise instructional strategies based on student data

Learning Strategies class is designed to enable students with disabilities to acquire and generalize strategies and skills across academic and community settings to achieve annual goals based on assessed needs and the student's individual educational plan. For the 2022- 2023 school year the K-12 MTSS and Interventions team is pleased to announce the launch of the new Community of Practice. Community of Practice (COP) aims to create a district-wide network of learning strategies for teachers to learn new approaches and collaborate on best practices. Below is a list of the upcoming trainings for the 22/23 school year
