Course Description/Meeting Summary:

Welcome to the FLDOE Documenting, Reporting, and Monitoring Restraint and Seclusion Training! This 3 hour course will focus on the overview and/or review of policy and procedures required when a restraint or seclusion is implemented. The training will take place in Portable 9 at Baldwin Park ES.

"The foundation of any discussion about the use of restraint and seclusion is that every effort should be made to structure the environment and provide supports so that restraint and seclusion are unnecessary." U.S. Department of Education: Restraint and Seclusion.

 

Participants will review the statute governing restraint and seclusion, the reporting timeline for restraints, the required information to include in reports, and how OCPS monitors the number of restraints and seclusions implemented. Upon completing this training, you will receive 3 in-service points. The training will take place in Portable 9 at Baldwin Park ES.
