Course Description/Meeting Summary:

This training will guide school teams through understanding the foundational links between SEL and academics, will provide definitions for schoolwide SEL indicators aligned with the CASEL Framework, and will walk schools through the CASEL resource, Indicators of Schoolwide SEL, with a focus on integrating various programs already available at the school level. This training will be grounded in supporting schools in using the tools and initiatives they may already have to ensure social, emotional, and academic well-being for students and staff.

Full Description/Meeting Details:

This training, geared toward Elementary schools who have been implementing SEL for 2 or more years, will guide school teams through understanding the foundational links between SEL and academics, will provide definitions for schoolwide SEL indicators aligned with the CASEL Framework, and will walk schools through the CASEL resource, Indicators of Schoolwide SEL with a focus on integrating various programs already available at the school level. This training will be grounded in supporting schools is using the tools and initiatives they may already have to ensure social, emotional, and academic well-being for students and staff. 

The training will include 2 hours and 30 minutes of facilitator led instruction and 30 minutes reserved for teams to review resources on their own.
