Course Description/Meeting Summary:

Curriculum and Digital Learning will be offering a two part Document-Based Question (DBQ) series during the 19-20 school year. Coaches and teachers of grades 3-5 are invited to attend the two day series. Participants will receive an overview of the DBQ Project 6-Step Method and learn how to implement and promote critical thinking skills using informational readings. Participants will learn how to engage students through the analytical process of thinking to produce evidence-based writing that supports their position on a document-based question. On day two, participants will learn how to examine student work and differentiate units to meet the needs of their own students. The series will include training with the new DBQ online platform. DBQ aligns to the DPLC focus of close reading of complex text. Washington Shores Primary Learning Center 8:30-3:30 pm
