Course Description/Meeting Summary:

This training will help Student Services personnel develop the knowledge and skill required to provide immediate mental health crisis interventions to the students, staff, and school community members who have been exposed to an acute traumatic stressor. This workshop requires a 1 hour pre training Teams Meeting followed by 2 full days of attendance face to face.

Full Description/Meeting Details:

The target audience for this 2-day workshop training is staff that support students following a crisis response (School Social Workers, School Psychologists,Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Safe coordinators, School Counselors). This training will help develop the knowledge and skill required to provide immediate mental health crisis interventions to the students, staff, and school community members who have been exposed to an acute traumatic stressor (i.e., student death, staff death, significant injury). The knowledge and skill developed within this session also help to build a bridge to the psychotherapeutic and trauma informed mental health response sometimes required to address challenges associated with trauma exposure. This workshop provides the knowledge and skills to mental health professionals as they provide mental health crisis intervention services. This workshop requires a 1 hour pre training Teams Meeting on 12/05/024. The training is face to face for 2 full days on 12/9/2024 & 12/10/2024. The time for face to face training is 8:00AM-3:30PM. The location for the training is RBELC-*th Floor Conference Room 8A.
