Full Description/Meeting Details:

This course is ideal for anyone who may come into contact with asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in their work environment, but who will not be intentionally disturbing these materials. This includes, but is not limited to, maintenance and custodial staff, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, general contractors, supervisors, and project managers.

Asbestos, a naturally occurring fibrous mineral, was widely used in construction and various industries for decades due to its desirable properties like heat resistance, strength, and insulating capabilities. However, its widespread use led to a significant public health crisis, as it became clear that inhaling asbestos fibers can cause severe and often fatal diseases. This 2-hour Asbestos Awareness class is designed to empower you with the knowledge needed to identify potential asbestos hazards, understand the associated health risks, and learn essential safety practices to minimize your exposure. This course does not qualify you to perform asbestos removal or abatement, but rather provides critical awareness to ensure your safety and compliance.
