Course Description/Meeting Summary:
This course provides an overview of the Elementary ELA curriculum, Benchmark Advance, with a focus on its structure, instructional design, and alignment to standards. Participants will explore key instructional considerations in reading and writing, including text complexity, knowledge building, foundational skills, and evidence-based writing practices. The course will also outline major instructional shifts required for successful implementation in 2026–27, helping educators understand changes in practice, expectations, and classroom delivery.
