Full Description/Meeting Details:
SECONDARY: Arts and Letters
Letters, postcards, and other handwritten correspondence allowed individuals to connect with loved ones, conduct business, and record memories with their own distinctive hand. The secondary professional development workshop draws on objects from the Morse Museum’s Arts and Letters exhibit that illustrate the intimate relationship between art, identity, and the written word. Secondary teachers will find inspiration from the history of stationery and postcards as well as create portraits using words and phrases. During workshops, teachers tour selected galleries, learn background knowledge for each lesson, create one lesson’s artwork, and receive curriculum units with complimentary presentations. Join us for the first Morse Museum workshop this year!
